Come along to a community picnic within the beautiful Queens Park, in the heart of Moonee Ponds to celebrate Neighbour Day.

Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community, encouraging people to connect with those who live in their neighbourhood.

So, come along, bring some yummy treats, roll out the picnic rug and enjoy the festivities!

Performers

Norwood | 12noon - 1pm

Norwood is the project of Melbourne based singer-songwriters Nathaniel Peacock and Olivia Bolmat, formed through a shared admiration for artists like Neil Young, Gillian Welch and The Dead Tongues. Since the release of their debut EP ‘Strange Occasions’ Norwood have played to audiences all over Victoria, supporting bands such as Eastbound Buzz and Pat Devlin, as well as selling out their own Melbourne headline shows. Inspired by the resonant sounds and stories of country and folk music, Norwood’s music has received national airplay on stations such as triple J and ongoing praise from organisations like Listen Up.

nORWOOD

De La Groove | 1.15pm - 2.15pm

An upbeat four-piece band performing English and Latin pop tunes, with a DJ playing live beats, saxophone player, percussion and lead singer.

You might even recognise this amazing talent from our Twilight Concert back in 2020. Bound to get you up and boogying the day away!

Voices of Moonee Valley | 3.30pm - 4pm

Voices of Moonee Valley is an all abilities community choir that commenced in 2020 under the leadership of Jonathon Welch AM, founding artistic director of the award-winning Choir of Hard Knocks. It is a joint program between Play It Forward and Moonee Valley City Council providing an inclusive choir experience for all.
